Post Visit Thoughts

It was quite an interesting experience to see how a library very different from where I work handles automation and technology issues. As it might be imagined, a larger library would present larger problems and I found myself feeling lucky that my problems are not on such a grand scale! Yet, some problems are the same no matter the size—SPACE! Will any library ever think they have enough space?! I did find their PCReservation software neat! It records the time a patron begins and sends automatic warnings that time is almost up. When time is up, it automatically logs off the patron. No more having to try to remove reluctant patrons from workstations.
